King Hamad appoints his son as his personal representative
Bahrain’s King Hamad Bin Eisa Al Khalifa has appointed his son Abdullah as his personal representative.
According to a royal order published by Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Eisa Al Khalifa is appointed personal representative of the king in all missions he is entrusted with both in Bahrain and abroad.
He will set up an administration within the Royal Court structure, the order said.
Shaikh Abdullah, the second son of King Hamad, is the Governor of the Southern Governorate and President of the General Commission for Protection of Marine Resources, Wildlife and Environment.
He will be 35 on June 30. Shaikh Salman, the King’s eldest son, is the Crown Prince.
Shaikh Abdullah represented the kingdom at the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference, commonly known as the Copenhagen summit.
He hosted Michael Jackson in Bahrain after the King of Pop was acquitted from molestation charges in the US.
