Palestinian diplomat urges massive participation in Bethlehem conference
Palestinian Ambassador to Bahrain Ahmad Ramadhan has urged a massive participation in an investment conference in Bethlehem, saying that participants would be boosting support for the Palestinians.
“The Palestine Investment Conference 2010 – Bethlehem will be held on June 2-3 at the Convention Palace in Bethlehem, Palestine,” the envoy said. “This conference will build on the cumulative accomplishments of the previous conference of 2008; however, it will be fully dedicated to SMEs investment and will serve as a platform for SMEs to discuss investment opportunities, establish solid linkages, and forge genuine partnerships between the Palestinian SMEs and regional and international business community,” he said.
According to Ramadhan, the Palestine Investment Conference 2010 – Bethlehem has the full endorsement of the Palestine National Authority “as part of its ongoing efforts to foster an enabling business environment for private sector growth and development, and has also the support of the international donor community.”
The active engagement and preparedness of Palestinian SMEs is an important component of this conference, he said.
“We will be bringing together SME representatives from a variety of sectors and industries and will facilitate the development of their business plans, in addition to addressing core issues pertaining to their readiness to enter regional and international markets, and the required tools and means to increase their competitiveness and production capacities,” he said.
