Doctors in a Saudi city had to perform a surgery on a prison inmate who had problems taking a mobile phone out of his body.

“An inmate has been implicated in getting a mobile phone inside his body, but was unable to take it out,” a spokesman for a prison in Madinah said. “Doctors at the King Fahad Hospital had to perform an urgent surgery to save him,” the spokesman was quoted as saying by Saudi daily Okaz.

No information was given about whether the prisoner had swallowed the mobile phone or on how he got it.
