Kuwait seeks ban on BlackBerry porn sites
Kuwait has asked local mobile providers to block the access through BlackBerry services of pornographic and immoral sites, a local paper said.
The communication ministry discussed with the three providers of mobile services in Kuwait BlackBerry issues that have emerged in the Arabian Gulf and asked them to block porn and immoral sites, Al Qabas daily reported, quoting unnamed sources. The ministry told them to get the necessary software.
The sources said that Kuwait would not end BlackBerry services, but insisted on blocking porn sites.
Several countries in the region have pushed for a ban of Research in Motion’s BlackBerry Messenger service, citing national security concerns.
