Strange penalty dents goal keeper’s early celebrations

A Moroccan goalkeeper who thought he had blocked a penalty in a crucial shootout for King Mohammad VI’s Cup and started waving to his team supporters eventually saw the ball roll back into the net and the referee allowing the goal.

In one of the world’s strangest penalties, Maghreb Fes player Driss Belaamri shot the ball, but Khalid Askari, the FC Rabat goal keeper, pushed it back, and moved towards the spectators to celebrate.

However, the ball, under the retro effect, rolled back and crossed the line, prompting the referee to allow the goal.

Askari’s team lost 6-7 in the shootout and was eliminated.
