Syria’s prime minister will visit Kuwait on October 20, a Kuwaiti daily reported.

Mohammad Naji Otri will head a delegation of ministers and will hold talks with the Kuwaiti leaders during his two-day visit, according to Al Jareeda.

Talks will cover Arab and regional issues with a focus on peace in the Middle East and security in the Gulf.

The Syrian delegation will also review the situation in Iraq, the development of the Arab League, the latest regional and international developments and ways to bolster bilateral relations, the daily reported on Tuesday.

Kuwait is the current chair of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), an alliance of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Aleppo-born Otri,66, has been head of the Syrian government since 2003.
