Doha chosen permanent venue for Offshore Middle East Conference and Exhibition

Doha has been selected to be the permanent venue for the Offshore Middle East Conference and Exhibition, Qatar’s deputy prime minister said.

Addressing the opening session of the Offshore Middle East Conference and Exhibition in Doha, Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah who is also the energy and industry minister, said that Qatar was the ideal place for the event in light of its powerful the economic structure possession of huge natural resources, especially natural gas, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

According to Al Attiyah, the Middle East has about 61 per cent of oil reserves and about 41 per cent of gas reserves in the world.

The three-day conference aims to attract global and regional oil and gas companies and specialized companies in the energy sector to exchange experiences and information as well as to explore business opportunities and new developments in the field of offshore oil and gas, QNA said.
