Ways to improve e-learning in Kuwait and the Gulf region will be the focus of an international conference to be held in Kuwait on March 28-20, organisers have said.

The E-Learning Regional Conference (ERC 2011) will also review ways to exchange global e-learning experience, improve educational institutions through the use of best communications systems, identify the latest methods and tools for e-learning and develop abilities of students and teachers to deal with e-learning techniques.

Abdul Majid Salman, ERC co-chairman, said the conference, themed “E-learning – Education for All”, is one of the most important scientific gatherings in the region, Al Watan daily reported on Wednesday.

Workshops on the sidelines of the conference will comprise the analysis and preparing of e-learning curriculum, e-learning strategies and international standards of e-learning and use of information technology inside and outside the classroom

A $2,500 award will be presented for the best scientific paper submitted on one of the themes of the conference, the organisers said.
