Bahrain to reinstate 571 sacked workers
A Bahraini committee tasked with looking into the dismissal of workers allegedly for illegal activities has recommended that 571 of them be reinstated.
The panel, headed by Jameel Humaidan, the labour minister, said that there was not enough evidence that the workers were “implicated in grave action that justified their dismissal.”
The committee was set up by Bahrain Prime Minister Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa and has reviewed all the disciplinary action taken by companies to ensure that rights of all parties are upheld.
No official figure has been given about the people who faced disciplinary measures for allegedly taking part in the strikes and anti-government demonstrations, but the committee has been directed to look into all instances.
