A committee tasked by King Hamad Bin Eisa Al Khalifa to investigate the incidents and deaths in Bahrain since February 14 said that it would submit its report by August 10.

The committee, chaired by Jawad Al Arrayad, the deputy prime minister, said that eight new members would join it, including the head of the Bahrain Bar Society, as it investigates documents and talks with people linked to the various incidents.

The committee was set up after two civilians were killed on the first and second days of the demonstrations.

Offering his condolences on the two deaths, King Hamad on February 15 said that the committee would have to “find out the reasons that led to such regrettable events.”

However, the committee’s tasks were later expanded to include deaths among Bahraini and foreign civilians as well as security men.
