Students under investigation for chanting political slogans in class
Bahrain’s education ministry on Sunday said that it was investigating students who called for the downfall of the regime during class.
The students at the Bahrain Training Institute, a vocational training centre established in August 1992 to develop a national workforce, started shouting the slogans during an English class taught by a foreign teacher, the ministry said in a statement.
“The probe will determine who broke the institute discipline rules and will be used to take the appropriate action,” the statement said.
The ministry last month said that it would adopt a zero-tolerance policy towards using educational institutions for political activities.
