Libya’s former prime minister Al Baghdadi Al Mahmoodi was on Thursday sentenced to six months in prison for entering neighbouring Tunisia illegally, Attounisia news portal reported.

Two other people, his nephew and a senior Libyan official from the office of the prime minister, were also sentenced to six months each for not possessing the required visas to enter the country.

Al Mahmoodi, who held the top office under Muammar Gaddafi and his two companions were arrested on Wednesday in the southern town of Tameghza, near Tunisia’s border with Algeria, Tunisian sources said.

According to Attounisia site, the official name of the former prime minister is Mahmood Ali Ahmad Al Baghdadi.
