14 suspects sentenced to life on charges of killing Pakistani man

A Bahraini court on Monday sentenced 14 defendants to life in prison on charges of killing a Pakistani man in March. The National Safety Court of First Instance said that the defendants attacked Abdul Malik Ghulam Rasool as he left his home in Manama using steels rods and assaulted another Pakistani.

Cassation court postpones killing case trial to October 24

Bahrain’s Court of Cassation on Monday postponed the trial of two defendants sentenced to death on charges of killing two policemen to October 24. The court said that it would look into the status of the two men alongside the verdicts issued against other defendants sentenced to life in prison in the same case.

Teachers express frustration with low salaries

Indian schools in Qatar do not do enough for the financial well-being of the teaching staff who remain an under-paid and over-worked group of professionals, teachers and Indian community members have said. However, principals have distanced themselves from the controversy and blamed the fee structure for low salaries, Qatar Tribune daily reported on Monday.
