Kuwait-based Syrian attempts suicide after Gaddafi’s death

October 31, 2011

A Kuwait-based Syrian woman has attempted to kill herself after hearing about the death of Libyan former leader Muammar Gaddafi, local media reported.

According to Al Watan, the 31-year-old woman was overtaken by grief after seeing the lifeless body of Gaddafi on television in a confirmation of his death and swallowed a large quantity of medicine.

Her family called the paramedics who acted quickly to rescue her, the daily said.

Several Arabs have refused to believe that the Libyan leader who ruled his country for more than 42 years was dead.
