Kuwait to treat injured Libyans

October 31, 2011

Libyans injured in the conflict between pro and anti-Muammar Gaddafi forces have arrived in Kuwait for medical treatment in local hospitals.

Kuwait’s defence ministry said that the injured were transported by a Kuwaiti Air Force (KAF) plane to Abdullah Al Mubarak Airbase on Sunday.

The move comes as a part of a humanitarian initiative launched by the Emir Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, in support for the Libyan people, the ministry said.

Kuwait has often treated victims of armed conflicts in the region.
