Bahrain corrects claim it found explosives at airport

December 8, 2011

Bahrain’s interior ministry on Wednesday evening revised a report it issued earlier that it found a package containing explosives at the airport.

“The laboratory test proved that there were no explosives in the package, but the material could be used to make explosive devices,” the ministry said on its Twitter account.

Earlier, the ministry said that it had carried out a controlled explosion of a package that originated from Britain and transited through Dubai on the suspicion that it contained explosives.
