Dissolutions of Kuwait’s parliament

1976 (August 29): The Emir Shaikh Sabah Al Salem Al Sabah dissolves parliament. The parliament was elected on January 27, 1975. Khalid Saleh Al Ghunaim was the Speaker.

1986 (July 3) – The Emir Shaikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah dissolves the parliament. The parliament was elected on February 20, 1985. Ahmad Al Saadoon was the Speaker.

1999 (May 4) – The Emir Shaikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah dissolves the parliament- The parliament was elected on October 9, 1996. Ahmad Al Saadoon was the Speaker

2006 (May 21) – The Emir Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah dissolves the parliament – Parliament was elected on July 5, 2003. Jassem Al Kharafi was the Speaker.

2008 (March 19) – The Emir Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah dissolves the parliament – Parliament was elected on June 29, 2006. Jassem Al Kharafi was the Speaker.

2009 (March 18) – The Emir Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah dissolves the parliament. Parliament was elected on May 17, 2008. Jassem Al Kharafi was the Speaker.

 2011 (December 5) – The Emir Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah dissolves the parliament. Parliament was elected on May 16, 2008. Jassem Al Kharafi was the Speaker.
