Swindler scoffs at Kuwaiti victim: You deserve 100,000 hits to your head

February 20, 2012

Kuwaiti police are looking for a man who swindled an Indian national of KD 350 ($1,258) after promising him a KD 100,000 ($359,428) prize.

The complainant told the police that he had received a telephone call from an unidentified man who informed him that he had won the prize from a telecommunications company, the Arab Times reported.

The caller reportedly told the victim that he had to bring a copy of his ID and KD350 to complete the procedures to issue the prize cheque.

The swindler met the victim, took the money and the ID photocopy and said the company would call him the next day. Feeling that he had been cheated, the victim called the man later.

The suspect reportedly laughed and told him that he deserved 100,000 hits with a shoe to his head, not KD 100,000.

Police were alerted, but when they called the suspect, he was out of reach. Investigations revealed that the suspect had used the telephone number of an Asian expatriate who had left the country, according to Arab Times.
