Council pledges to rebuild damaged shrine

Bahrain’s Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs has condemned acts of vandalism on the shrine of Shaikh Sasaa Bin Sohan, in the south east of Bahrain. “Such deplorable acts are strongly rejected and will not be tolerated,” the council said in a statement on Thursday.

Kuwait sticks to ban on ‘unfit’ food import

Kuwait has kept a ban on the import of foods it believes are unfit for human consumption. The food safety committee has recommended continuing an import ban imposed on Canadian beef and on beef, mutton, deer meats, and derivative products from Tajikistan.

Man disguised as a woman arrested for begging in Kuwait

Police have arrested an expatriate man who disguised himself as a woman to beg for money in Kuwait. According to Kuwaiti daily Al Rai, the man who fooled people in the upscale Salmiya neighbourhood in Kuwait City, was arrested after a woman who gave him money felt there was something wrong with the begging “woman”.
