More than 1.5 m domestic helpers work in Saudi Arabia

More than 1.5 million domestic helpers, mainly from Asian and African countries, work in Saudi Arabia, the largest economy in the Arab world. Amid stories of genuine compassion and mutual benefits, tales of physical and financial abuses of helpers in the Gulf countries by arrogant and selfish employers are often matched by reports about thefts and acts of revenge by the employees.
