Access to anti-Islam video blocked

September 21, 2012

Riyadh has blocked access to the highly controversial video upon orders from King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, the official news agency reported.

Officials from the Communications and Information Technology Commission said that all providers have been urged to comply with the order and that it expected You Tube to remove it to prevent people from watching the anti-Islam video.

The video-sharing website would be blocked if it failed to respond to the request, they said.

Citizens and residents were urged by the commission to communicate all links to the video to help block them.
