The threat letter and the bullets – Al Sharq

Saudi education authorities are looking into reports by a teacher after he found an envelope containing a threatening letter and two bullets on his car windshield.

The letter asked the middle and high school teacher to leave the questions of a semi-annual exam in a library and threatened to kill him if he refused. “These [bullets] are in your hands and tomorrow [they will be] between your eyes,” the unknown author of the letter wrote.

The teacher took the envelope to the education authorities in Wadi Al Dawaser and asked for a probe, local Arabic daily Al Sharq reported.

Officials told the newspaper that they would investigate the issue and would complete the security procedures.

The teacher has refused to comment, arguing that the case was with the authorities.

The threat has sparked deep outrage in the local community and beyond amid strong condemnation and calls for stringent punitive action against students who cheat and blackmail others.
