October 19, 2013

Qatar’s Supreme Council of Health (SCH) has announced a new case of the deadly coronavirus after a Qatari man was diagnosed with flu.

The 61-year-old man was diagnosed in the national centre for flu, the SCH said in a press statement, carried by Qatar News Agency on Thursday.

The Qatari man also suffers from chronic diseases and he is receiving treatment. His health condition is stable, the statement said.

The epidemiological investigation procedures showed that the patient did not travel outside the country during the two weeks prior to the onset of symptoms and he has not been subjected to socialise with a confirmed case, the health council said.

All the patient’s family members and others were checked up and the initial results were negative.
